Slide is a service that provides media-sharing tools that can be dropped onto virtually any Web page on the social Web. The slide show running above is, for example, pulling pictures out of my Flickr library and assembling them for playback anywhere I paste a chunk of code (which Slide produces and I copy-and-paste onto a page like this one).

Slide delivers photo-sharing, video sharing, slideshow and social network-specific applications, such as guest books and animated messaging (called “pokes” on MySpace and Facebook) that can be plugged into sites. The company focuses on putting polish on the stuff you add to the network, so a YouTube video can, for example, be presented in a customized frame to give it a personal, yet professional-looking, touch. The site will store your photos, as well, so you needn’t have a photo-sharing account somewhere else.
